Basel is the biggest and most important exhibition location in Switzerland and one of the key locations in Europe. Messe Basel comprises in five halls an overall exhibition area of 141,000 m2, 83,000 m2 of which suitable for multi-storey stands. The exhibition site includes modern hall complexes, a multifunctional event hall, the congress center basel with 25 congress and conference rooms and a musical theatre. Basel, located in Switzerland at the heart of Europe, is a congress city with conveniently situated facilities. Travel times are short, and the historic old town, the shopping areas and the many museums and parks can be reached comfortably on foot or in a few minutes by public transport.
Basel is an international rail hub: direct ICE, IC and EC daytime and night time connections from Germany, Austria, Italy France and the Benelux countries. All three of Basel’s railway stations – SBB (Switzerland), SNCF (France) and DB (Badischer Bahnhof, Germany) – are within 5 to 10 minutes of the Basel Exhibition Centre.
If you take tram no. 1 or 2, you can reach Basel Exhibition from the Swiss or French (SBB/SNCF) railway station in 10 minutes or from the German (DB) station (Badischer Bahnhof) in 5 minutes by tram no. 2 or 6.

Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg Airport is 15 minutes’ drive from Congress Center Basel. Further, there is an easy connection from EuroAirport to the exhibition center in downtown Basel by public transport (Bus Nr. 50), via the central Swiss railway station (Bahnhof SBB). From Bahnhof SBB the tram line no. 2 serves Basel Exhibition square directly.
Zurich Airport is served by about 70 airlines, with flights to 82 European and 39 intercontinental destinations. There are frequent trains between Basel SBB station and Zurich taking less than an hour, and direct services to and from Zurich Airport.
Basel is the point where the Swiss, French and German motorway networks meet. Basel Exhibition and the trade-fair grounds have their own motorway exit. The „Messe“ exit from the A2 motorway leads directly to the fair and congress ground. There is a multi-storey car park with space for 1,200 vehicles at Exhibition Square.
