ExCeL London is a £500 million international venue offering an incredible 100,000m2 of flexible event space, including London’s International Convention Centre (ICC London ExCeL). ICC London ExCeL includes the UK’s largest auditorium (up to 5,000), London’s largest banqueting hall (3,000 guests) and a stunning, multi-function conference suite with fabulous reception and registration areas (2,500 delegates). The ICC is seamlessly integrated with ExCeL London’s existing meeting and exhibition space, including fully appointed meeting rooms, a self-contained conference facility and expansive Event Halls, ideal for large-scale events. ExCeL London has 7 on-site hotels, ranging from luxury to budget, offering 1,400 rooms between them. In addition, there are over 10,000 hotel rooms within 20 minutes of ExCeL London.

Transportation

With three onsite DLR (Docklands Light Railway) stations, parking for 3,700 cars and London City Airport just 5 minutes away, getting to ExCeL London couldn’t be easier!

AIR

London is the best connected city in the world and can be reached in less time, from more places, than any other location. It has six international airports. If you are flying into the capital to attend an event at ExCeL, we recommend using London City Airport if you can as it is less than a mile from the venue. From London City Airport, it takes just 5 minutes by taxi or 15 minutes by DLR (Docklands Light Railway) to get to ExCeL. The airport has 350 flights per day, from over 40 international destinations including Amsterdam, Dublin, Madrid, Nice, Frankfurt, Rome and Zurich.

London City Airport – Average journey time by public transport: 15 mins

  • Depart London City Airport, taking the DLR west towards Canning Town.
  • Change at Canning Town, heading east on the DLR towards Beckton.
  • Arrive Custom House for ExCeL (West).
  • Arrive Prince Regent for ExCeL (East).

Gatwick Airport – Average journey time by public transport: 1 hour

  • Depart Gatwick train station, heading towards London Victoria on the Gatwick Express or Southern Trains. From Victoria, head east on the Circle (yellow) or District (green) line.
  • Change at Westminster, heading east on the Jubilee line (grey).
  • Change at Canning Town, heading east on the DLR towards Beckton.
  • Arrive Custom House for ExCeL (West).
  • Arrive Prince Regent for ExCeL (East).

Heathrow Airport – Average journey time by public transport: 1 hour 30 mins (when Crossrail opens in 2018, journey time from Heathrow will be just 43 minutes)

  • Depart Heathrow Airport on the Heathrow Express, heading to London Paddington
  • From Paddington, head east on the Bakerloo line (brown)
  • Change at Baker Street, heading south on the Jubilee Line (grey)
  • Change at Canning Town, heading east on the DLR towards Beckton
  • Arrive Custom House for ExCeL (West)
  • Arrive Prince Regent for ExCeL (East)

Stansted Airport – Average journey time by public transport: 1 hour 10 mins

  • Depart Stansted, heading to London Liverpool Street on the Stansted Express.
  • From Liverpool Street, head west on the Central Line (red).
  • Change at Bank for the DLR towards Beckton.
  • Arrive Custom House for ExCeL (West).
  • Arrive Prince Regent for ExCeL (East).

Luton Airport – Average journey time by public transport: 1 hour 40 mins

  • Depart Luton, heading towards London Blackfriars on the Thameslink Service.
  • From Blackfriars, head west on the Circle (yellow) or District (green) line.
  • Change at Westminster, heading east on the Jubilee line (grey).
  • Change at Canning Town, heading east on the DLR towards Beckton.
  • Arrive Custom House for ExCeL (West).

Southend Airport – Average journey time by public transport: 1 hour 34 mins

  • Depart Southend Airport, heading towards London Liverpool Street on the Abellio Greater Anglia service
  • From Liverpool Street, head west on the Central Line (red).
  • Change at Bank for the DLR towards Beckton.
  • Arrive Custom House for ExCeL (West).

TUBE, DLR & OVERGROUND

The Docklands Light Railway (known as the DLR) is part of the London Underground network. Two of the stations, Custom House and Prince Regent, are on our campus. Trains pull up at a covered walkway leaving visitors with less than a two minute’s walk to the entrance.  Journeys are quick and easy across the London Underground network!

The Jubilee Line and the DLR are the quickest routes to ExCeL London. Alight at Canning Town on the Jubilee Line and change onto a Beckton-bound DLR train for the quick two-stop journey to ExCeL: Custom House for ExCeL (for the west entrance) or Prince Regent for ExCeL (for the east entrance or the ICC London.)

Tube trains generally run between 5am and midnight, Monday to Saturday, with reduced operating hours on Sunday. Timetables depend on the station and the line, so it’s worth checking the Transport for London website.

London’s public transport network is divided into nine travel zones. Zone 1 is in Central London and zones 6 to 9 are on the outskirts of the city. Buy a Visitor Oyster card, Oyster card, Travelcard or use a contact-less payment card to get the best value (cash is the most expensive way to pay). ExCeL London is located in Zone 3.

RAIL

As the UK’’s capital city, London is connected by rail to all major cities in Great Britain, with frequent services to all corners of the country. In addition, Eurostar operates regular train services to Brussels and Paris from St Pancras International.

Rail services in the UK are run by a set of private train operating companies. Your point of departure will determine the best service to take and at what station your train will arrive into London. London’s main rail stations are:

  • Charing Cross (27 minutes from ExCeL)
  • Euston (32 mins)
  • King’s Cross/St Pancras International (32 mins)
  • Liverpool Street (26 mins)
  • London Bridge (16 mins)
  • Marylebone (31 mins)
  • Moorgate (26 mins)
  • Paddington (32 mins)
  • Victoria and Waterloo

All of these London train stations have direct tube links which will take you to ExCeL London.

CAR

It’s easy to get to ExCeL London from many of the main routes in to London including the M25 and M11, the North Circular, A406 and the A13. As you get closer you’ll pick up signs for Royal Docks, City Airport and ExCeL

When you’re using a sat nav use this postcode E16 1DR to get you to the car parks.

If you are driving to ExCeL, you can make use of 3,070 parking spaces at a £15 flat tariff for up to 24 hours. Click here to download our parking map which shows you the location of the car parks on campus. Please note the Royal Victoria multi-storey and Orange car park undercroft areas only permit vehicles up to a maximum of 1.9 metres high. If you’re travelling from A13, M11, A406, please use the postcode E16 1FR which will bring you to the East entrance of the venue.

All onsite parking is pay and display, with the exception of the Royal Victoria multi-storey car park. Parking in the Royal Victoria multi-storey car park can be paid for at one of the three pay points located within the car park (on level two and level zero) at the end of your visit. All machines accept cash and credit card.

Motorcycles can be parked free of charge in the designated motorcycle parking area in the Upper Level Orange Car Park, Zone 3.

We also operate an additional tariff for our lorry and coach park areas and these are charged as follows (costs based on 24 hour durations):
